Armed Security Officer Training
Class "G" Armed Security Officer License
In order for an applicant to get a Class "G" Security Officer License in the State of Florida, they must:
be 18-years of age
be a United States citizen
must provide a current RESIDENCE address
have a Class "D" Security Officer License in the State of Florida
must attend a 28-hour class taught by a "K" License Instructor.
The Class "G" Security Guard Training covers the following material; Legal Aspects of the Use of Firearms, Chapter 493 Florida Statute, Chapter 775 Florida Statute, Chapter 776 Florida Statute, Chapter 790 Florida Statute, Civil and Criminal Liability, Operational Firearms Safety, Firearms Mechanical Training, Revolvers, Semi-Automatic Pistols.
Class "G" Armed Security Guard Annual Requalification Training
The 4-hour annual re-qualification course will refresh armed security officers and armed private investigators with the skills necessary to re-qualify for the Class “G” Statewide Firearm License.
The Florida Class "G" annual re-qualification course will cover firearms safety, marksmanship principles, firearms mechanics and review Florida Statutes 493, 776,790. The Class "G" annual re-qualification course will also refresh student’s skills in marksmanship fundamentals, loading and unloading, the 4-step draw and clearing malfunctions.
Armed Security officers and private investigators that fail to qualify annually for the armed "G" re-qualification training requirement will have their license suspended by the Division of Licensing and they may have to retake the entire 28 hour Statewide Firearm License Course.
